Every part of your home keeps its own calendar. Lyntl keeps them all.

Lyntl is a home-maintenance app. Tell it what is in your home: the boiler, the radiators, the gutters, the washing machine. It knows the maintenance each one needs and how often, sends a push notification when a job is due, and keeps a record of every service you log.

Lyntl is in a private pilot and not yet open to the public. Write to hello@lyntl.app.

One ventilation unit, and everything done to it

Follow a single appliance through its first years: an example ventilation unit with heat recovery, the kind that runs quietly all day in a cupboard or the loft. Lyntl reminds you when a job is due and keeps the services you log. Seeing its whole history in one place, and keeping the invoice with each service, come after the pilot; those steps are marked “after the pilot” below.

  1. Year 1, April

    Bought and added

The ventilation unit is fitted in the utility room. You add it from Lyntl’s list, and it comes with its jobs set up: new filters, clean vents and a yearly service.

  2. Year 1, October

    The first reminder

Six months on, the unit is still humming away and easy to forget. A push notification says the filters are due.

  3. Year 1, October

    Filters replaced, logged

You slide out the two filters and fit new ones. Mark it done, and the next change is set six months on.

    In Lyntl now

  4. Year 2, March

    The vents cleaned

The vents in the ceilings and walls get a wipe and a vacuum. One job, logged against the unit they belong to.

    In Lyntl now

  5. Year 2, April

The yearly service, with its invoice

An engineer services the unit and checks the airflow. The service is logged, and the invoice stays with it.

Logging the service: in Lyntl now. Keeping the invoice with it: after the pilot

  6. Year 3, January

    A repair

One of the fans gets noisy and is replaced. It goes into the unit’s history next to its services.

After the pilot: the appliance history

The ventilation unit, its jobs and their intervals are examples, not advice. Filters and service intervals differ between units: follow the manufacturer and have the service done by a qualified engineer.

How Lyntl works

No single job in a home is hard. What makes them easy to miss is that each comes round rarely, on its own schedule, and nobody keeps the whole list. Lyntl keeps the list, so you only have to do the job when it comes up.

  1. Find it

Look up your appliance in Lyntl’s list, or the part of the house you want to look after.

  2. Set it up

It comes with its maintenance tasks and how often each is due, picked by hand. If one doesn’t fit your appliance or how you use it, change it.

  3. Add it to your home

It joins everything else Lyntl is keeping track of for you.

  4. Get reminded

When a job is due, a push notification says what needs doing and to which thing.

  5. Log the service

Mark it done, and it goes into the record for that thing.

  6. Repeat

The next due date follows on by itself. You don’t have to remember it.

Ventilationan entry in Lyntl’s list

  1. Replace the filters changed from every 6 months to every 4 months
  2. Clean the vents in each room every year
  3. Yearly service by an engineer every year
An example entry. The tasks and how often each is due come with it, picked by hand. The one with the old interval struck through was changed to fit how this home uses it.
